ANNE ARUNDEL — Students in 1st through 12th grades will all begin the school year on Sept. 8 and not in the staggered fashion that has been employed in prior years.
The onset of virtual learning negates the need to provide students in grades 6 and 9 – the first year of middle school and high school, respectively – with a day to get acclimated to a new, larger building before all students return to those buildings.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools will consider instituting such a day when the school system returns to full in-person instruction.
Students in half-day prekindergarten, full-day prekindergarten, early childhood intervention and kindergarten will have a staggered start so that teachers can conduct conferences with parents and guardians.
Specific conference dates for those families will be provided by schools.
