ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley has announced that Annapolis Police Chief Scott Baker will be leaving the department.
“I’ve been on the job for a little over a year now, and I want to see a change in the direction and culture of the Annapolis Police Department,” Buckley said.
Baker started his career with the Annapolis Police Department in 2008 when he was appointed as a Major. He was later promoted to Police Chief by Mayor Mike Pantelides in 2017.
City Manager Teresa Sutherland says that Major Paul Herman will be named Acting Police Chief while the City looks for their next Police Chief.
Police Chief Baker's last day will be March 20.
