A family of five has been displaced from their home in the 3200 block of Magnolia Ridge Rd in Annapolis after it caught fire early Sunday morning. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department credits working smoke alarms for waking up the family when the fire began around 12:45 a.m. allowing everyone to get out of the home, including their dog, before calling 911. The fire escalated to a 2-alarm fire and 78 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Annapolis, and the Naval District Washington – Naval Academy responded.
The Red Cross is helping the family of two adults and three children.
The cause of the fire and the damage estimate are still being evaluated.
