ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WMAR) — Annapolis Police have made an arrest in connection to a late night shooting of a 29-year-old man.
The incident happened last Tuesday after 11:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Madison Street.
Officers already in the area heard shots being fired and located the victim suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Following the incident, detectives found a handgun outside of where the shooting happened.
The handgun turned out to be reported stolen last year.
Investigators traced the gun back to 29-year-old John King of Annapolis. It was determined that King is a previously convicted felon who's prohibited from having a gun.
Analysis of the gun and evidence found on scene directly linked King to the shooting itself.
King was initially arrested last Thursday on a warrant charging him only with gun related crimes, but police have since added attempted murder charges for his alleged involvement in the shooting.
He's being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center without bond.
