ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Annapolis Police Department wants to send you to college.

The Department's Spring Fling is about to rock the City Dock a week from tonight at the Market House. All the money raised will go to deserving students from Annapolis.

In the past three years, the Annapolis Police Department has helped 13 students attend college on scholarship.

In an amazing and tremendous gesture, an anonymous donor has contributed thousands of dollars to honor the five victims of the Capital Gazette shooting.

Jameira Eades is a freshman at Winston Salem and Jamar Turner attends Morehouse.

Both are grateful for the money and a chance at high education. Jameira wants a job in marketing. Jamar wants to be a teacher.

Spring Fling is next Wednesday night 7 to 10 p.m. at the Market House. Restaurants, music, auction items all for you.

And if you are a high school student with a 2.7 GPA and live in Annapolis, you should apply and you may get a chance at the college scholarship.
