Anne Arundel County will start the new year off with a special gift.
Customers with fines from late returned children's books are getting a break. This will wash away $750,000 in current fines.
Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and Anne Arundel County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. George Arlotto made the announcement today.
"So, every child in Anne Arundel County can checkout a book now from the library and going forward we're no longer going to charge fines for kids or parents who are passing out children's books," said Pittman.
This amnesty effects 33,000 customers who have fines from the library.
