The deadly school shooting in Florida has law enforcement officials taking a hard look at school safety measures in Maryland.

Anne Arundel County Sheriff Ron Bateman is calling for a series of changes in his district, to help keep students safe. In a Facebook post, he proposes a number of things he wants to see in every school in the county including things like metal detectors and bulletproof doors.

He proposed five solutions he believes would help keep students safe which includes metal detectors and x-ray machines that would be controlled by trained law enforcement personnel at every school. Also on the list is more cameras that will be monitored in real time by law enforcement as well as resource officers and bulletproof doors.

He's calling for these solutions in every elementary, middle and high school in Anne Arundel County
