GAMBRILLS, Md. — A Baltimore motorcyclist is dead following a Wednesday afternoon crash in Gambrills.
It happened around 2:30 p.m. on southbound Crain Highway near Capitol Raceway Road.
Anne Arundel County Police say 38-year-old Clifton Christopher White 2nd was trying to make a left turn on a Kawasaki motorcycle, when he was struck by a Honda Odyssey that was trying to merge into the same turn lane.
White died at the scene. The driver and passenger in the Honda remained on scene and were not injured.
Detectives believe the crash was caused by a combination of White's speed and the Honda failing to remain in a single lane.
While toxicology results are pending, drugs and alcohol aren't believed to be a factor.
