A law proposed in Annapolis would require anyone convicted of domestic abuse to give up their guns.

A large group gathered on Lawyers Mall in support of the bill.

House Speaker Michael Busch was at the rally and vowed to do what he can to get the bill passed.

The current law states that if you are convicted of a violent domestic assault you can't purchase a firearm but it doesn't address the guns already own.

State Senator Mike Hough says he agrees with the bill but is concerned with logistics and who would be responsible for taking the guns.

Advocates for the bill have been pushing it for the last 3 years.
