The MARC Train station at BWI Airport is about to undergo a multi-million dollar renovation.
On Monday, August 27 the Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Transit Administration will begin a fourteen-month renovation project expected to cost $4.7 million.
When complete, the station will include an expanded waiting area, new ticketing facilities with concessions and restrooms.
During construction, the station will remain open for train and bus services. A temporary station set up on the site's north end will provide ticketing for Amtrak and MARC customers and will be equipped with a waiting area and restrooms. To accommodate pedestrian access to the temporary station, traffic pathways will be established along with a handicap accessible ramp.
