College football player dies after shooting at a party

A college football player who was paralyzed in a shooting last month has died.

Lawrence Aaron III, 19, was shot on January 1 at a New Year's Eve party at a home in the 7800 block of Bastille Road in Severn.

Aaron was a freshman defensive tackle at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said it was notified that Aaron died from his injuries Thursday at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

A 17-year-old boy at that party was also shot. He left the party before police arrived.

He was treated at the hospital for an injury to his arm.

Homicide detectives are now investigating the death of Aaron.
