UPDATE: Anne Arundel County Officials confirm that the woman has died from her injuries.
She has been identified as 84-year-old Mary Lanthrip and lived in the home in the 3300 block of Sudlersville South.
Fire crews were called by a neighbor who spotted flames coming from the kitchen of the home just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and believed someone was inside.
Firefighters arrived and immediately found the woman unconscious in the bedroom. She was treated and rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died shortly afterwards.
Investigators believe the cause of the fire was accidental and began in the kitchen. There were working smoke alarms in the home.
