Fire reported at Loews Hotel in Annapolis

No injuries were reported after a fire broke out at an Annapolis hotel Thursday afternoon.

Crews responded to the Loews Hotel in the 100 block of West Street after reports of a fire. When they got to the hotel, they found heavy smoke and fire conditions on the fourth floor, but firefighters were able to get it under control within 20 minutes. 

Annapolis Building Inspectors were called to the scene to assess the safety of the structure. Everyone was safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
