Fundraiser held benefiting families of Gazette victims

Posted

For over a week, there has been several fundraisers held for the families of victims of the Capital Gazette shooting.

The latest happened on Sunday at the Crooked Crab Brewing Company in  Odenton.

A silent auction and raffle was among many benefits held at the event, organized by Liz Murphy, a Capital Gazette writer.

Though she was not in the newsroom the day of the shooting, Murphy says she is still trying to cope with the tragic loss of her friends and colleagues, but all the support from surrounding communities is heart warming.

All proceeds from the raffle and silent auction along with one dollar from every pint sold will be donated to a fund created by the owner of the Capital Gazette for the families, victims and survivors of the mass shooting.
