Students rally for tougher gun control laws.
On Saturday, the group met outside the State House in Annapolis.
The event was organized in response to a recent shooting at the Capital Gazette and another earlier this year at Great Mills High School in Saint Mary’s County. To honor those victims, a moment of silence was held at the beginning of the event.
Rally goers called for an increase in the state's minimum age to purchase a firearm, and hoped to get the attention of Governor Larry Hogan.
Also in the works is an effort to raise money for some Great Mills students to travel to Parkland, Florida to meet with the students and parents impacted by the February school shooting.
