ODENTON, Md. — A man convicted of killing his girlfriend will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
In 2018, Anne Arundel County Police found Edgar Manning IV in his van in Odenton with 21-year-old Megan Burdeaux's body inside. Manning told police they got into a fight and that he had choked her until she died.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced Manning to life in prison.
"We're a little relieved that this parts over but we're never going to get over the fact of Megan," said her mother Dawn Burdeaux. "She was our heart and our soul we miss her every day we cry every day. Nothing's going to replace that but this just gave us a sense of justice was served today."
Burdeaux says this is one hurdle that her family has gotten over and they have many more to go.
