A man is seriously injured after a boat he was riding on crashed into a piling in the Magothy River on Thursday.
Police say around 10:15 p.m. someone called police saying they saw a boat speed pass them and then they heard a collision. Firefighters arrived in the area of Inverness Road and Riverdale Road and found two people on the crashed boat.
A medevac helicopter was requested and one of the people on the boat, a 40-year-old man, was transported to Shock Trauma with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The other person on the boat was evaluated by paramedics but declined treatment to the hospital.
