Man seriously injured in Anne Arundel shooting, suspect arrested

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Anne Arundel County.

On January 24, at about 4:40 p.m., officers responded a report of shots fired in the area of Walton Avenue and Redmond Street in Brooklyn.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 28-year-old victim with an apparent gunshot wound, seated in a black Mazda CX7.

Officers searched the area and located a man fitting the description hiding in the bed of a pickup truck at Walton Avenue and Johnson Avenue. Officers detained Phillip Harris IV, who was positively identified as the shooter.

He was arrested and found to be in possession of approximately 100 grams of suspected marijuana that was packaged for sale.

Officers found a black Taurus 9mm handgun suspected of being used in the incident. The victim was taken to an area hospital for serious injuries.

Harris is facing multiple charges that include Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
