GLEN BURNIE, Md. — As children scrambled from door to door for Halloween treats, shots rang out. A man lost his life and now police and neighbors are worried.

Halloween decorations adorned the 400 block of Gatewood Court in Glen Burnie but what happened last night is scarier than any imagined Halloween story. Police were called shortly after 7 p.m. on Halloween night.

When they arrived that's exactly what they found, they found a man that had been declared deceased on the scene.

The man was found in the middle of the street on Gatewood Court. This comes on the heels of another homicide the night before in the same area of Glen Burnie.

"This is the second we had in that general area in about 26 hours. Its definitely very concerning to us. It's something that our Detectives are looking at to see if the two could be related or if there are two separate incidences, right now we are not sure,' officials said.

Police say the man was shot in the upper body. This is the 15th homicide in the county this year. 15 is about the average number of homicides that the county has each year.

Stand up: The residents and the police are obviously upset about this homicide but the way that everything happened is even more disturbing.

"This is extremely concerning and heart breaking to us," Sgt. Davis said. "Not only was this man gunned down in cold blood but, it was done so in front of children in his family and other children."

Police say there may have been dozens of kids, family members and other trick-or-treaters in the court when this man had his life taken away from him. Detective are hopeful someone will come forward with information.
