UPDATE: A pedestrian was struck by a dump truck Monday morning in Anne Arundel County.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday, Anne Arundel County Police said the pedestrian, who was initially thought to have been killed, was in fact revived and taken from Harbor Hospital to Maryland Shock Trauma. He remains in critical condition.
It happened at approximately 8:15 a.m. in the 4800-block of Ritchie Highway near 5th Avenue in Brooklyn.
The pedestrian has been identified as a man in his forties, the fire department said. His name has not yet been released.
The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene, according to police.
Northbound Ritchie Highway was shut down at Hillcrest Avenue as police investigated.
