SEVERN, Md. — A dispute between neighbors led to someone's backyard being set on fire Sunday evening in Severn.
Crews were dispatched to the 1800 block of Blue Jay Court just after 8:15 p.m., for a report of outside patio furniture on fire.
Anne Arundel County firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but not before it also damaged a nearby backyard fence.
Investigators discovered the victim and neighbor were involved in an ongoing dispute, resulting in a juvenile suspect to retaliate and throw a lit firework into the yard.
That youth was arrested and charged with Second Degree Malicious Burning, Destruction of Property, and Negligent Burning to another Property
They've since been released to their legal guardian. No one was injured, but the fire caused an estimated $1000 in damage.
