A new program in Anne Arundel and Harford counties is aiming to help kids having a 'ruff' time in court.
The program, Caring Canines, would allow children who have to testify bring support dogs into court. They are hoping it will help the kids feel less stressed.
Erin Bogan, a worker for the program that created Caring Canines explained,
"For kids, it's someone non-judgmental they can read to, not a teacher, not a parent. For someone who's hurting, it takes their mind off them, to have a smile, love or a tail wag."
The pet therapy program was created by Dogwood Acres Pet Retreat.
The dogs and their handlers in the circuit courts are volunteers.
