Something new is coming to BWI airport aiming to keep you and everyone on your flight safer.
It's called a CT scanner, and it will be used to screen bags for explosives. The scanners create 3-D images that can be viewed and rotated by TSA officers.
And even more good news for travelers, TSA officials say the technology should lead to fewer bag checks!
Passengers may be able to leave laptops and liquids in their carry on bags in the future because of the scanners as well.
More than 145 CT scanners will be in airports across the country by the end of 2019.
