One dead and three injured after a three vehicle crash on 295 in Linthicum

LINTHICUM, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly accident on 295 north Sunday morning.

Glen Burnie Barrack troopers responded to a three vehicle crash on northbound MD 295 at West Nursery Road in Linthicum, around 2:30 a.m.

Investigators discovered that a 2014 Nissan Maxima was traveling north on MD 295, when the driver rear-ended a 2017 Honda CRV. The force of the crash caused the Honda to rear-end an Infinity 45, causing both drivers to lose control, coming to rest along the highway guardrails. According to officials, the Nissan overturned and both occupants were ejected.

Troopers said the drive of the Nissan Maxima, 21-year-old Iana McDaniel of Baltimore was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the Nissan, 23-year-old Shaz-Dominique A. Holsey of Baltimore was taken to Shock Trauma. The driver of the Handa, 32-year-old Ranak D. Cruze of Burtonsville, Md. and the driver of the Infinity 22-year-old Leonard Lee III of Reisterstown, Md. were treated and released on scene with minor injuries.

Maryland State Police Aviation, Crash Team and MDOT State Highway Administration personnel provided assistance.

The cause and contributing factors involved in this crash remain under investigation. Nothing has been ruled out at this time.
