ODENTON, Md. — A 27-year-old Odenton man was killed when he was truck by a minivan while trying to cross Conway Road, Anne Arundel County Police said.

Officers responded to a fatal pedestrian crash on Conway Road near the intersection of Patuxent River Road in Odenton at about 6:25 p.m.

Police said a 2010 Honda Odyssey was heading east on Conway Road towards MD-3/Crain Highway when the van struck one of two pedestrians walking along the edge of the road. The pedestrians were in the eastbound lanes, “as close to the edge as possible,” police said. The man who was struck, Jonathan Huber, of the 1200 block of Patient Road, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other pedestrian was uninjured. The driver, 33-year-old Teray Maurice Lemon of Annapolis, remained on the scene.

Police said the preliminary cause of the accident was the pedestrians walking in the roadway, with poor weather at the time also being a contributing factor. The Traffic Safety Section will investigate the accident and pass along their findings for the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office to review.
