ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Anne Arundel County Police have released more details on an officer involved shooting that took place Sunday afternoon in Annapolis.

Police were called around 3:16 p.m., to the 1000 block of Lakeview Lane for someone possibly armed with a gun.

Hodgson had apparently showed up at the home of an ex, and made digital threats towards officers who were called.

Three-year veteran officer D. Rosa was first on scene, and saw 21-year-old Hunter William Hodgson leaning against a vehicle.

When Rosa confronted him, Hodgson allegedly raised a butterfly knife and lunged. Rosa tried backing away, but Hodgson kept charging prompting the officer to shoot him three times in the leg region.

Hodgson was then arrested and found to be in possession of an ASP baton. After being released from the hospital, Hodgson admitted in an interview with detectives that he charged Rosa with a knife.

He was taken to Anne Arundel County Detention Center, and is being held without bond on several charges including first and second degree assault.
