CROWNSVILLE, Md. (WMAR) — A police K-9 helped arrest a burglary suspect Thursday morning in Crownsville.

Anne Arundel County officers were called just before 5 a.m. for an alarm at the vacant Wawa store on Generals Highway.

Police saw the suspect inside and ordered him out but he refused. A K-9 was then sent in to take the suspect into custody.

He was identified as 33-year-old Anthony Michael Roney.

Officers found that Roney had burglary tools with him and was trying to cut and steal copper from the building.

Roney was treated on scene for a minor injury.

He's charged with multiple burglary offenses.
