Police: Man threatens to kill victim with knife over parking spot in Anne Arundel

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — A man has been arrested after he threatened to kill a victim with a knife over a parking spot.

On January 24, at about 5:00 p.m., officers responded for an armed suspect with a knife in the 1400 block of Dorsey Road in Hanover.

The 28-year-old victim and 25-year-old suspect, Jawaan Johnson, were engaged in a verbal dispute over where the victim had parked his vehicle.

Johnson became agitated, grabbed the victim's phone and threw it to the ground, causing damage. Johnson then got a folding knife from his vehicle and used it to threaten the victim with bodily harm.

The victim was able to get away from the suspect and call for help. The suspect was arrested and taken to Western District for processing.

He is being charged with first and second degree assault and damaging property valued at less than $1,000.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident and the knife used by Johnson was found.
