LAUREL, Md. (WMAR) — Police are looking for a suspect who purposely ran over and killed at least 10 seagulls Saturday at the Laurel Plaza Shopping Center.
Officers were dispatched just after 10:45 a.m., and found the group of dead birds outside of the Dollar Tree on Fort Meade Road.
Police say the suspect bought a bag of popcorn from the dollar store, and intentionally lured the seagulls by pouring it all out onto the parking lot.
When the seagulls came to eat the popcorn, the suspect allegedly ran them over with their car before fleeing.
Detectives think the incident took place sometime between 9 and 10:30 a.m.
