ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Senator Chris Van Hollen was in Annapolis on Monday night.
He spoke in the House of Delegates and the Senate on his upcoming legislature priorities and the work he is doing on behalf of Marylanders.
The biggest topic of discussion was his efforts to fully fund public education.
"I think making sure every one of our kids, no matter where they live, where they grew up, what their background is making sure they have the very best education our state provide is a state priority," Van Hollen said.
The Maryland senator says he is trying to make sure congress fully funds Title One and Special Education. Here at home, Van Hollen says Maryland's national standing when it comes to education continues to slip.
He says that's why it's important to turn the Kirwan Commissions recommendations into law.
