LAUREL, Md. — Fire investigators say two parked cars were intentionally set on fire outside a Laurel home overnight Sunday, leaving six people without a home.

It happened just before 4:45 a.m. in a driveway in the 8000 block of Moss Bank Drive.

Arriving Anne Arundel County firefighters found both cars engulfed in flames with fire extending into the garage.

About 20 minutes later the fire was put out, but not before damaging a third car and spreading into the attic of the home.

Luckily all residents were able to safely escape, but unfortunately the home is no longer habitable. The Red Cross is assisting the family.

It's estimated the fire caused $135,000 in total damage.

Anne Arundel County Fire officials say the investigation is now a criminal one. Anyone who knows or saw anything is asked to call 410-222-TIPS.
