Teens rob, beat food delivery driver with fists and steel chair in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Three juveniles are accused of beating and robbing a Pizza Boli's delivery driver overnight Tuesday in Annapolis.

The driver told police he was making a delivery in the 1400 block Tyler Avenue, when a teen girl approached his car as if she was the customer, and grabbed the food without paying.

Annapolis Police say the victim tried getting the food back, but the suspect and another girl she was with called over a male teen, who came over and punched the victim in the head. Both girls then allegedly punched the victim in the face. The boy also reportedly held the victim down while the two girls went through his pockets and stole money and glasses.

According to police the assault continued as the victim was trying to get away. One of the girls picked up a steel chair and hit the victim in the chest. The driver was finally able to get back in his car and cal 911. He was not seriously injured.

Officers found and arrested all three teens, one 16-year-old and two 17-year-old's, and cited them with juvenile robbery, assault, and theft. Each has already been released back to their guardians.

Police are unsure if the suspects actually made the order.
