Only the drive-thru is open at the CVS in Odenton today.
That's because of a robbery attempt Friday morning that left a gaping hole on the side of the building.
"It appears that the suspects took a stolen vehicle, a stolen truck that was stolen from Prince George's County. Drove that into the CVS to gain access to the inside of the building," said Lt. Ryan Frashure, Anne Arundel County Police.
Apparently, this was not too successful for the thieves. They were not able to remove the ATM machine that is still by the front door.
Security footage shows the stolen truck slamming into the CVS and another camera shows them inside climbing over counters.
"So they got back into the vehicle and drove off. That vehicle was later recovered in our Western District Odenton area," said Lt. Frashure.
County police have seen this before recently.
"This appears to be linked to some other incidents that we had that were very similar last week and that have occurred in other jurisdiction around Anne Arundel County."
It was a busy night for the thieves, besides the CVS store in Odenton, they hit two other businesses close by as well.
"A second business was the black lotus tattoo parlor and our third incident was an AT&T mobile phone store."
The tattoo parlor is in Hanover and the AT&T store is in Severn. In both of those stores, they pried open the door and stole a cash box and bill paying machines.
"I think they are high or on drugs or something," said Craig Borowy.
Borowy was there to reinstall the security system after the damage.
"They've been doing this the last six times I come out they haven't been able to get the ATM machines, you know get any money. So I don't know why they're bothering," said Borowy.
Police are checking other security cameras also to see if they can gather more information on these serial burglars.
