CROFTON, Md. — Three firefighters from two different counties suffered burns after a two story home broke out in flames Thursday afternoon in Crofton.

Crews received several 911 calls for a home on fire in the 1700 block of Crofton Parkway.

Arriving units found heavy fire coming from the second floor and extending into the attic through the roof.

It took about 20 minutes for 36 firefighters from three agencies to control the blaze.

Two Anne Arundel County firefighters suffered minor burns, one to his leg and the other to his neck. A Prince George's County firefighter also sustained a minor burn to the hand. All three were taken to the Burn Center at Washington Hospital Center and have since been discharged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. One resident of the home is displaced. They were not home at the time of the fire.
