WEST RIVER, Md. — Three people including a 14-year-old were hospitalized following a two car head-on crash Tuesday evening in Anne Arundel County.
It happened in the 5300 block of Muddy Creek Road.
Arriving crews found a pick-up truck on its roof, and an SUV on a guardrail.
The 44-year-old female driver of the SUV was trapped for about 20 minutes before firefighters were able to rescue her. She and a 14-year-old passenger were later helicoptered to a hospital.
Luckily, the 24-year-old pickup driver was able to escape his vehicle before rescue crews arrived.
All three suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries according to fire officials.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
