Two arrested on child pornography charges in Anne Arundel County

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — Following investigations into child pornography allegations over the past several months, the Anne Arundel County Police Child Abuse Unit has arrested two individuals in connection to child pornography.

The first investigation began in January 2019 when the unit began an investigation in reference to a report of a specific account that was directly associated in uploading child pornographic images to a website.

Detectives were able to locate an address involved with the uploading of the images and on April 19 located the suspect, 37-year-old David Patrick Kardian and interviewed him. Several electronic items that belonged to the suspect were seized and later examined.

On October 7, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Kardian and charged him with 13 counts of possession of child pornography. He was arrested without incident.

On March 13, special agents with the FBI and the Anne Arundel County Police detectives executed a residential search and seizure warrant at a home in Glen Burnie for an on-going investigation regarding the possession on child pornography.

The investigation originated in Florida and as it progressed, investigators were led to the suspect’s address in Glen Burnie.

Upon arrival, agents and detectives made entry as the suspect who was identified as 24-year-old Tyrin Antario West was on-scene and interviewed.

Numerous digital electronics were confiscated and submitted as evidence as they were later examined by forensic investigators with the FBI.

On October 7, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for West for count of promotion/distribution of child pornography and 11 counts of possession of child pornography. He was arrested without incident.
