Two suspects arrested in Brooklyn for a handgun violation

BROOKLYN, Md. — Two men were arrested and charged early Monday morning for a handgun violation.

At around 2 a.m., officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of Doris Avenue and 4th Street for a registered violation.

The driver and passenger both gave the officer false names, but, once their true identities were learned, it was discovered that both suspects, who have been identified as 45-year-old Eugene Thompson, of Annapolis, and 31-year-old Antoine Scott, of Baltimore, had active arrest warrants.

Upon searching the vehicle, a loaded .38 caliber handgun was found along with suspected crack cocaine.

Both suspects are prohibited possessors of firearms and ammunition. However, Thompson admitted that the handgun was his and not Scott's.

Thompson has been charged with Possession of a handgun related charges and CDS possession and Scott has been charged with CDS possession.
