GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck Thursday afternoon in the area of Ritchie Highway and US Route 50.
Anne Arundel County Police say the driver was getting onto the US-50 ramp around 4:22 p.m., when a woman walked out of a wooded area and was hit.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified later died at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The driver remained on scene and was not hurt.
Investigators believe pedestrian error to be the cause, and don't think speed was a factor, though toxicology tests for drugs and alcohol are still pending.
