Update: There were two 11-year-old girls, one 9-year-old girl and a 6-year-old-boy involved in the Frederick Avenue crash Saturday.
An 11-year-old girl died, and three other children are in critical condition following a collision in southwest Baltimore Saturday afternoon.
Just after 4:30 p.m. a crash team from the Baltimore City Police department was dispatched to the 2700 block in Frederick Ave for a reported crash.
When emergency crews arrived to the scene they located an 11-year-old girl ejected from the car, three other children, and a 26-year old man.
Despite medical treatment at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, the 11-year-old girl died.
The other two children remain critical at nearby hospitals where they are receiving continued care.
Police determined the 26-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol while speeding before he lost control of the vehicle.
He is now in police custody.
Investigators are working closely with the States Attorney office and say criminal charges are pending.
