The Maryland Food Bank recognized their 2018 Heroes Against Hunger, Thursday.
The event, held at The Center Club in Baltimore, celebrated businesses and individuals who show extraordinary dedication to supporting the food bank's mission of battling hunger in Maryland. The Maryland Food Bank is the largest charitable food provider in the state.
The Heroes were honored with individual awards that spoke to their community service.
Maryland State Senators Edward J. Kasemeyer and Adelaide "Addie" Eckardt were named Public Champions of the Year. Perdue Farms Inc. took home the Big Hearted Believer accolade. The Powerhouse Partner of the Year went to Venable LLP.
“For more than two decades, each of these Heroes Against Hunger have fought valiantly against hunger like the nemesis it is." said Maryland Food Bank CEO & President Carmen Del Guercio said. "Their commitment to our mission has never wavered, and their impact on food-insecure Marylanders has been immeasurable.”
