BALTIMORE — Police are investigating two early morning shootings, injuring one and killing the other in East Baltimore.
Just after midnight, Southern district officers arrived to the 1600 block of Hazel Street to investigate a reported shooting. There, they found a 29-year-old female suffering from gunshot wounds.
She was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Around 1:13 a.m., officers were called to the scene for reported gunfire in the 800 block of North Milton Avenue. On the scene, they found a 51-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives leading the investigation learned that officers responded to the location after receiving a Shot Spotter alert. They found the victim laying in the street and had a handgun in his possession.
