BALTIMORE — City residents will get a chance to meet Mayor Catherine Pugh’s new pick for Baltimore Police Commissioner during nine upcoming meetings, one in each of the city’s police districts.

Michael S. Harrison, the former Superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department, will assume the role of Acting Commissioner on Feb. 11, the Mayor’s Office said. Pugh will formally submit his name for nomination to the Executive Appointments Committee of the Baltimore City Council on the same day. The committee will hold a hearing on the nomination at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 4.

Harrison will participate in the first public meeting on Monday, Feb. 11, wrapping up the series of public events on Feb. 22. Each meeting is open to the all city residents, regardless of if they live in the district where the forum is hosted. The full schedule is listed below:
