Amtrak has big plans for Baltimore's Penn Station.

A team of developers has several ideas on how to transform it, and they're asking for public input on their vision for what Penn Station station will look like in the future.

Their vision for Penn Station is called 'Next Stop Baltimore'. Baltimore's Penn Station is already the eighth busiest train station in the country and redevelopment could bring even more people here.

Some of the ideas talked about including a hotel, retail, residential and commercial space, but the plan for the station and surrounding area is a work in progress. It will be developed over the next six to eight months with a team of developers, designers, as well as the community.

Amtrak will hold a kick-off meeting Tuesday night at the University of Baltimore to present those plans to people who live in the area. They want to hear what people in the community think of the redevelopment plans, talk about transportation needs, and what the renovated station will look like.

That includes not only the historic building itself, but the surrounding plazas, streetscape, and public areas.

If you want to participate, the meeting is Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the University of Baltimore Business Center.
