A year later, Jasmine's dad James Dunton, Jr., a Baltimore City Sheriff's Deputy, and her stepmother Kimberly Dunton are raising baby Kennedy and her three siblings;

"Though it's a bittersweet thing, we want to keep everybody lifted in knowing that you know god is just he's amazing, and we don't ask why, but it's just what it is. He took a life and he gave us Kennedy", said Kimberly Dunton.

Dunton says Kennedy started walking two weeks ago and very much reminds the family of her mother.
