The Baltimore City Council approved the $15 minimum wage bill Monday with 11 votes in favor, 3 votes against and one abstention.
The bill will raise the minimum wage to $15 by the year 2022. Currently, the minimum wage stands at $8.75 an hour.
Under the bill, companies with less than 50 employees would have until 2026 to phase in the $15 minimum wage.
The bill will now head to Mayor Catherine Pugh.
