BALTIMORE — On Monday, the Baltimore City Council gave their final vote on the Water Accountability and Equity Act, after council unanimously passed the bill through the second reader.
Council members stressed that the bill would not be getting ready to pass without the hard work of all the advocates surrounding them.
“Homeowners and renters win on the same bill, in the same night.” Advocates explain how this program brings water & sewer costs down. Plus, how this bill creates a new oversight committee where the voices of the people can be heard - providing a safe & accountable water service.
The City Council passed the bill unanimously as well as approved a ban on plastic bags in the city.
