A "Zika Ambassador" training session is scheduled Tuesday at Coppin State University to help educate locals about the virus.

Baltimore Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen, along with health department staff, will team up with community members to provide safety tips and prevention methods.

The Zika Ambassador Program (ZAP) is said to be a key component the mayor's Citywide Preparedness Plan for the virus.

The ambassador program was launched to inform locals, share tips to help prevent an outbreak in Baltimore and provide resources to help Zika Ambassadors educate others in their communities.
