BALTIMORE — The City of Baltimore wants to make sure all residents, businesses and visitors are informed about emergencies.

BMORE ALERT launched Thursday. It's a new emergency notification system where anyone who signs up can be notified by phone, text or email.

Alerts can be sent out for a variety of emergencies including: severe weather, winter storms or hurricanes, flooding, hazmat situations, infectious disease outbreaks, widespread power outages and evacuations.

Anyone interested must provide a phone number, email address and street address for their account. Depending on the emergency, the alerts may be sent out in phone calls, text messages and/or emails from the City of Baltimore.

The numbers that will send out alerts are:

  • (866) 419-5000
  • (855) 969-4636

These numbers can be called to hear the last message sent out.
