BALTIMORE — Baltimore Fire responded to a report of a multi-story building fire on Monday in the area of Mosher Street and North Bentalou Street.
Officials say the call came in at around 7:30 p.m. and that the building was a vacant warehouse. Once crews arrived at the scene, they opened the windows and realized the intensity of the flames, causing them to sound a third alarm.
There is believed to have been a large number of tires in the building that contributed to the size of the fire.
The spokesperson for the fire says no firefighters were hurt, and they don't believe any people were hurt.
"This is an immense amount of smoke, you can see smoke, some people were reporting that they saw smoke from Parkville and here we are in West Baltimore," Blair Adams of Baltimore Fire said.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., the fire upgraded to a four-alarm fire with fire officials continuing to perform exterior operations.
