BALTIMORE — Whiskey enthusiasts can get a taste from a new boutique bottle Saturday as the Baltimore Spirits Company releases their next batch of Epoch Rye.

Based in the Union Collective building in Baltimore’s Medfield neighborhood, the company will begin pouring tastes and selling bottles of their flagship spirit at noon. It’s the first batch released since the whiskey’s initial launch in March of 2018, the company said.

“It’s hard to believe it’s only been a year since we first launched Epoch Rye,” said Baltimore Spirits Company co-founder and CEO Max Lents. “So much has happened to us as a company since then, but each release still feels like the first time.”

The distillery has won numerous awards with the whiskey, like a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and a gold at the New York International Spirits competition, the distiller said. The current release is said to be the best batch yet, with stronger notes of fruit and aromatics in each glass. Bottles can be purchased for $39.99.
